Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @3320mhz 2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8000 @1038mhz 5-5-5-15 Asus P5B Deluxe ATI Radeon X1900XTX @708/864 Sound Blaster Audigy 2 other unimportant stuff, hard drives and whatnot PCSX2 v0.92 is fully multithreaded and dual-core enabled. I tested with Final Fantasy X, the only game which the creators of PCSX2 have tested from beginning to end and declared playable entirely through. I'm using the default ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.96.0 graphics plugin. It is DX9/SM3.0 enabled and takes advantage of cards which support this shader level. I set it to Bilinear enabled, AA 4x mode. Running with frame limiter off, dual-core support enabled, watching the famous intro sequence looping, I was seeing peak framerates of ~130fps and lowest framerate of ~75fps during 3D sequence. Windows Task Manager reports CPU usage at 100%, so PCSX2 is utilizing both cores to the fullest extent possible. 2D screens humorously reported 300+ fps. With frame limiter on, the game runs at the correct 60fps and is locked at that speed, so that it runs exactly as it does on the PS2. Early test results are positive. PS2 emulation at full speed is now possible on Intel Core 2 Duo systems with beefy enough video card. I will plug in an actual controller and actually try to play the game tomorrow, and post up some screenshots. I'm tired now and I'm going to bed. -- View image here: http://episteme.arstechnica.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif --
